Receive & Assemble
Equipment is received from our suppliers and assembled per order. An accomplished assembly chain and rigorous quality control produce a high calibre unit, ready to be issued to our customers. Non-stock units may have a lead time of up to 12 weeks.
Equipment Return Centre (ERC)
The Equipment Return Centre is seen as the start of any customer supply chain. Whether you use the GLS ERC or you choose to have the ERC on your site, GLS will offer you a tailor-made solution to meet your needs.
Vendor
From the ERC we issue equipment to vendors. We track this using G-track to ensure that balances are kept in check, as well as being able to supply billing for the various vendors, based on the rental model you choose.
Customer Supply Chain Network
Equipment is either received back from vendors or from the ERC. As the equipment is moved through the customer supply chain network, we are able to either implement solutions and processes to track the equipment, or make use of EDI or API to integrate data, generated on your internal management system, into G-track. Using this information, we will be able to manage your equipment through the supply chain network more efficiently.
RTI-Retail Transport Item
Returnable packaging or MHE (Material Handling Equipment), is one of the only elements in the supply chain that completes the cycle throughout the entire supply chain. On the return leg to the ERC, the equipment is received, checked and cleaned to ensure that it meets our QC requirement before being re-issued.
Maintenance
If any damages are identified on the return leg to the ERC, the equipment is sent to maintenance. GLS repairs the units and ensures that the equipment is in good working order for the next cycle.
